2021 NFL mock draft: Round 1, 28th overall

WR. LSU. player. 15. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Terrace Marshall Jr.. 28

The New Orleans Saints have never drafted a player from LSU in the first round of the NFL Draft. That could have changed last year when the Saints had a need at linebacker and Patrick Queen was still on the board when they went on the clock at No. 24. Instead, they decided to take interior offensive lineman Cesar Ruiz.

In this 2021 NFL mock draft, the Saints buck that trend with the selection of Terrace Marshall Jr., a wide receiver out of LSU here at No. 28.

Marshall is a tall and long wide receiver prospect who shows a wide catch radius and impressive contested-catch ability. He attacks the ball in the air extremely well and also shows fantastic ability in the deep passing game. Marshall has good speed on the outside and tracks the deep ball well.

This combination of size and speed makes Marshall an exciting wide receiver prospect who has massive upside at the next level. The Saints could certainly use another dynamic offensive playmaker and Marshall certainly fits the bill, even if he does come from LSU.

2021 NFL mock draft: Round 1, 29th overall

Tulsa. 29. player. 49. Zaven Collins. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. LB

Poor linebacker play led to major struggles against the run for the Green Bay Packers at times in 2020. They could clearly use an upgrade in talent at the off-ball linebacker position and Zaven Collins would fit well.

Collins, a 6-foot-4, 260-pound linebacker out of Tulsa, won the Bronko Nagurski Award for the best defensive player in college football this past season. Collins is a big and tough defender who holds up well against the run, but he is also a tremendous athlete for his size who shows great range on the field. In Zaven Collins, the Packers find themselves an impact playmaker at the off-ball linebacker position who can come in and help them right away.
