2021 NFL mock draft: Round 1, 20th overall

Mac Jones. 20. 57. Alabama. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. QB

The Chicago Bears are also in a difficult quarterback spot this offseason. The temptation to trade up for one of the top four guys is going to be there, but it is not going to be cheap. Is ownership going to allow general manager Ryan Pace to mortgage the future to go up and land a potential franchise quarterback? Perhaps, but it does seem unlikely.

Instead, I could certainly see the Bears hoping for the best and selling themselves on Mac Jones at No. 20. Jones had a great year at Alabama this past season. He is a smart and accurate passer who also feels pressure in the pocket well. However, he lacks ideal arm strength and his limited mobility is a major concern.

Young traditional pocket passers simply have not had success recently in the NFL. Guys who can improvise and make plays on the move have a much larger margin for error and Jones is simply never going to be that guy. However, as an accurate passer who consistently makes strong decisions, Jones certainly has a chance to be a quality starter at the next level.

2021 NFL mock draft: Round 1, 21st overall

CB. Jaycee Horn. player. 46. Pick Analysis. South Carolina. 21. Scouting Report

Since the Indianapolis Colts traded away a couple of mid-round picks to acquire Carson Wentz, they could certainly look to recoup that value with a trade down in this spot. However, in this NFL mock draft, the Colts stand pat and make an important addition on the defensive side of the ball.

Jaycee Horn is a long and physical cornerback prospect who shines in press coverage at the line of scrimmage. He does get a bit grabby at times but Horn shows solid short-area quickness and does a great job of playing his man in coverage.

More than anything, Horn’s combination of size and athleticism gives him a high ceiling at the next level and would make him a great fit in Indianapolis.
