Eagles 2021 mock draft – Day three picks

5a. Caden Sterns, S, Texas

The Eagles continue to add depth in the defensive backfield with their first day three selection in this mock draft (fifth round) by drafting Texas safety Caden Sterns.

There could be a bit of a projection here with Sterns, whose tape early on at Texas was better than the way he finished.

There is ball production potential there for Sterns who had four interceptions as a freshman with the Longhorns.

5b. Jaylon Moore, OT, Western Michigan

The Eagles’ offensive line depth was tested in 2020, and that might be the understatement of the year.

This team needs to continue to add depth on the offensive line and Western Michigan starting left tackle Jaylon Moore can provide them with exactly that.

He’s got an NFL-ready frame and with a little bit of seasoning, he could be a nice day three value.

6a. Jack Anderson, OG, Texas Tech

Continuing the theme of offensive line depth here on day three, the Eagles get a guy in Jack Anderson who was a staple for the Red Raiders program over the last three years at the right guard spot. He had a shoulder injury that limited him in 2019 but he returned to form in 2020.

6b. Tre Norwood, DB, Oklahoma

A converted cornerback who excelled at free safety this past season, Norwood should be an attractive day three option for most NFL teams with his combination of speed and ball skills.

7. John Bates, TE, Boise State

With the potential that the Eagles could still trade tight end Zach Ertz on the table, you can’t argue against taking a day three shot on a player like John Bates at the position.

Bates was a big-bodied blocking type for Boise State but he could have some untapped potential as a receiver at the next level.
