Amari Rodgers is not appreciated enough as an NFL prospect for whatever reason.

When Justyn Ross went down with a season-ending injury prior to the 2020 campaign, Rodgers stepped in as the WR1 for the Tigers and wound up leading the Tigers with 77 receptions and 1,020 yards.

Projecting best as a slot at the NFL level, Rodgers is the type of guy you want as a consistent chain mover and threat after the catch. His quickness makes him such a dynamic weapon in the slot, but Rodgers is capable of making big plays downfield in contested catch situations as well.

He’s got such strong hands and with his leaping ability, he can be a dynamic red zone weapon.

Even after using a first-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft on Jalen Reagor and the previous pick in this mock draft on Amari Rodgers, the work is not yet done for the Philadelphia Eagles at wide receiver.

Would the team pass on a player like Tylan Wallace here with the selection they acquired in the Carson Wentz trade anyway?

I’m not sure about that.

Wallace has excellent downfield skills and while Rodgers and Reagor can really beat you with speed and physicality after the catch, Wallace is the type of playmaker who is going to win more consistently downfield.
