2021 NFL Draft: Alabama sets first-round pick record in 2-round mock draft

2021 NFL Draft: Round 1, 30th overall
One area the Bills must upgrade this offseason is the running game. The team finished last year rated 25th in the NFL in rushing yards by a running back, and had the fourth-highest percentage of runs that were stuffed. Part of this issue can be attributed to not having a star running back as Zack Moss was rated as the 30th best running back in the NFL by Pro Football Focus and Devin Singletary was rated as the 47th by the same service. However, the interior offensive line might be even more of an issue.
The only interior offensive lineman on the team who is pretty much guaranteed a spot next year is Cody Ford. Although, Ford has battled injuries throughout his career so you can’t count on him starting every game. The other guard position is filled by Jon Feliciano who also missed significant time in 2020, and when he played had his share of struggles. The team also might decide to cut center Mitch Morse this offseason, as Morse has battled concussion issues and would free up significant cap space.
A player who could take over for Jon Feliciano at left guard is USC’s Alijah Vera-Tucker. With Vera-Tucker the Bills would be getting the best offensive guard in the 2021 NFL Draft, and one of the most well-rounded offensive linemen as well. In 2019, Pro Football Focus graded him as the top run and pass blocking guard in the Pac-12. He also has experience playing along the offensive line as he has played both guard and tackle at USC. In terms of his physical skills, the trait that stands out the most with me about him is his outstanding strength.
