2021 NFL Draft: Alabama sets first-round pick record in 2-round mock draft

2021 NFL Draft: Round 1, 16th overall
One of the biggest questions in Arizona this offseason is what will they do at cornerback. The team has several of its corners including last year’s starters Patrick Peterson and Dre Kirkpatric scheduled to hit free agency this offseason. Even if the team resigned both of these players which is doubtful, they would still need to upgrade the position as neither player had a standout year in 2020.
In South Carolina cornerback Jaycee Horn the Cardinals would be getting a big physical corner who has a somewhat similar playing style to Patrick Peterson. When watching Horn’s game film it is evident he is best playing outside where his physical style of play can be allowed to press receivers getting out of their stance.
This would be a good fit for the Cardinals as the team seems set at nickel corner with Byron Murphy who has impressed during his first two years in the NFL. This selection would allow Arizona to play Horn at one of the starting corner spots next year and possibly bring in a free agent to fill the other spot. The team will also likely add more help in the secondary later in the 2021 NFL Draft as well, to help fill out the depth chart.
