On Saturday morning, our most recent 2021 NFL mock draft dropped on NFL Mocks. This time, we went three rounds deep, giving us a well-rounded look at potential draft classes for every team. The San Francisco 49ers had among the most interesting hauls in this mock draft, finding three potential impact players who can help take the team to the next level. Let’s take a look at how the 49ers were able to improve.

San Francisco 49ers first-round pick

With their first-round pick of this mock draft (12th overall), the San Francisco 49ers brought in offensive lineman Alijah Vera-Tucker. Vera-Tucker is an extremely athletic offensive line prospect who shined at both guard positions and left tackle throughout his college career. His movement skills consistently stand out on the field, allowing him to thrive as both a pass protector and as a second-level run blocker.

Vera-Tucker’s ability to get out and make blocks in space is impressive and makes him an ideal fit in the 49ers’ offensive attack. Plus, his positional versatility is ideal for this team. Adding Vera-Tucker to the mix would help solve the 49ers’ immediate need at the offensive guard position. On top of that, they could groom Vera-Tucker to be their eventual starter at the left tackle position.

Make no mistake about it, Vera-Tucker is a perfect fit for the San Francisco 49ers and would be an ideal choice for them at No. 12 overall.

San Francisco 49ers second-round pick

The 49ers turned their attention to the defensive side of the ball in the second round of this mock draft, addressing their obvious need at the cornerback position by the selection of Ifeatu Melifonwu.

More from NFL Mocks

With Richard Sherman, Jason Verrett, Ahkello Witherspoon and many other cornerbacks hitting free agency this offseason, the 49ers will have many decisions to make at the position this offseason. Adding Melifonwu to the mix in the second round of this mock draft felt like an easy choice.

Melifonwu is a long and athletic cornerback prospect who plays with great physicality at the line of scrimmage. He is a tough and aggressive cornerback who uses his length to overwhelm opposing receivers and shows impressive quickness to recover when needed.

Simply put, Melifonwu is an extremely talented cornerback prospect who has exciting upside at the next level. Cornerback will likely be a massive need for this team in the 2021 NFL Draft and Melifonwu stands out as a strong fit and a good value for where they found him in this mock draft.

San Francisco 49ers third-round pick

The 49ers moved their own third-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft last offseason in the Trent Williams trade. That being said, after the New York Jets hired Robert Saleh to be their head coach, the 49ers have earned a third-round compensatory pick. In this recent mock draft, the 49ers used that compensatory pick to add wide receiver Amari Rodgers to the mix.

Wide receiver is not as big of a need as the other positions the 49ers addressed in this mock draft, but they could certainly use some more talent at the position. Rodgers stands out as a strong fit for the 49ers’ offensive attack, showing the ability to create separation with ease from the slot and make plays after the catch. Adding Rodgers to the mix would give Kyle Shanahan yet another exciting playmaker to work with in the passing game.

dark. Next. Sleeper wide receiver prospects to watch

Overall, the 49ers were able to add impact players at three key positions throughout this mock draft. This kind of haul would help get San Francisco back on track quickly and add a ton of long-term upside to both the offensive and defensive units.
