With the Super Bowl behind us, it is officially time for the offseason. While this offseason is expected to feature unprecedented veteran movement at the quarterback position, the 2021 NFL Draft is still the marquee event of the NFL offseason.

Even this early out, the first pick is nearly set in stone. That being said, there will still be plenty of unknown and intrigue surrounding the 2021 NFL Draft from now through April. In this 2021 NFL mock draft, we are going to go three rounds deep, making at least one prediction for each NFL team. Also, keep an eye out for some exciting trades throughout the first round. Let’s get started.

2021 NFL Draft: Round 1, 1st overall

No surprise at the top. Trevor Lawrence will be the first overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft by the Jacksonville Jaguars and he will look to turn around the fortunes of a struggling franchise. Jacksonville limped to a 1-15 record this past season, securing them the first overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. This recent awful season has caused the Jaguars to go in a different direction, with Urban Meyer being hired to lead the way as the Jags’ head coach.

Meyer arriving in Duval represents a new era of Jaguars’ football. Trevor Lawrence takes it to the next level. Lawrence is the best quarterback prospect to enter the league in recent memory. He is a nearly flawless prospect whose combination of size, athleticism and arm talent is genuinely special. Lawrence is also an extremely accurate passer who throws the ball with impressive touch and anticipation to all levels of the field.

There are some decision making concerns in Lawrence’s game that must be cleaned up at the next level. He has a big arm and he is not afraid to use it, but sometimes, that leads to him forcing the ball into tighter spaces than he should. However, with more experience and proper NFL coaching, Lawrence should be able to quickly clean up that part of his game.

Simply put, Trevor Lawrence is the perfect player to lead the Jaguars into the future. He is the only real option for the team with the first overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
