2021 NFL Draft: Jets, Panthers fill QB need in three-round mock draft
2021 NFL Draft: Round 1, 10th overall
The Arizona Cardinals are not exactly loaded with a ton of 2021 NFL Draft capital so spending some of it to trade up here may not be the most responsible plan of attack. That being said, adding Kyle Pitts to their offensive attack is simply too exciting to ignore and would make the aggressive move up worth the price.
Pitts is not only the best tight end prospect in the 2021 NFL Draft class, but he is also arguably the best wide receiver. This guy is an absolute weapon in the passing game who has shown the ability to make plays all over the field. Pitts is too quick and explosive for most linebackers and too big and strong for most defensive backs. He shows the ability to win as a deep receiver, shines in run after catch situations and is also a tremendous contested-catch weapon.
Pitts does not offer much as a blocker at the tight end position but he is a hard worker who is going to give his all on every play. He will lose many fights up front but the willingness to stick his nose in there and block is intriguing.
Led by dynamic quarterback Kyler Murray and star wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins, the Arizona Cardinals already have an exciting offensive attack filled with a ton of long-term upside. That being said, this offense underperformed in a big way last season (13th in points scored per game and 19th in offensive DVOA) and could use certainly use another impact weapon in the passing attack. Pitts could be the player who takes this offensive attack to the next level.
