2021 NFL mock draft: Round 2, 34th overall

Amon-Ra St. Brown. 2. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. WR. USC. player. 808

The New York Jets must find some offensive playmakers who can help their new young quarterback. Whether it’s Darnold, Fields, Wilson or anybody else, the Jets’ starting quarterback will need more help than the team provided this past season. New York could easily end up spending big at the wide receiver position in free agency but that should not preclude them from addressing the position in the upcoming draft.

Early in the second round of this 2021 NFL mock draft, Amon-Ra St. Brown stands out as a strong target for the New York Jets. St. Brown is a quick and athletic target who shows impressive natural route-running ability. He displays the ability to create easy separation right off of the line of scrimmage and also shows some nice deep speed. St. Brown tracks the ball in the air extremely well, has strong hands and is also an impressive playmaker with the ball in his hands.

While St. Brown is probably best suited as a slot receiver at the next level, he has shown the ability to make an impact on the outside as well. Simply put, he is a talented wide receiver prospect who has a chance to quickly become a dynamic weapon at the next level.

2021 NFL mock draft: Round 3, 66th overall

Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. player. 817. LB. LSU. Jabril Cox. 3

After a strong and successful career at North Dakota State, Jabril Cox transferred to LSU this past season and proved himself worthy against top-tier college football competition. Cox is a rangy and athletic linebacker who fits the modern NFL extremely well.

Saleh’s defenses thrived in San Francisco with Fred Warner roaming around the field and making plays from the linebacker position. I am not saying that Cox can come in and be as good as Warner, but he has the range and natural playmaking ability from the linebacker position that gives him a chance to at least be a similar type of player. Taking a shot on him in this range would certainly make sense for the New York Jets as they look to remake their defense under Saleh.
