14. 60. Defensive Tackle. Alabama. Christian Barmore. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. player

Christian Barmore is a player that has been rocketing up draft boards as of late. After displaying his potential as the defensive MVP of the 2021 College Football Playoff National Championship Game, Barmore has been a hot name in draft circles as of late.

Following in a long line of Alabama defensive linemen, Barmore could wind up in the top half of the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft before it’s all said and done. A disruptor in the middle like Barmore is very valuable in today’s NFL and should be highly sought after by defensive-needy teams.

Barmore is a great penetrator in the middle of the defensive line. He is a great athlete for his size, knifing his way into the backfield and chasing down quarterbacks and ball carriers to make plays. He is explosive off the snap with the power and athleticism to make big plays.

While Barmore can get stood up and pushed back at times when a blocker really engages him, he has an optimal frame that he can fill out once he gets in an NFL weight room. With some time to fill his frame and develop as a player, Barmore could be a force to be reckoned with.

The Minnesota Vikings 2021 NFL Draft first-round pick was hard to pinpoint. The team has a lot of needs across the board, but no real glaring holes. The Vikings defense struggled mightily last season, and a rising player like Barmore could be very impactful going forward.
