Cleveland Browns 2021 mock draft: 3rd round

After just two seasons on campus (playing, anyway) for LSU, the former five-star prospect Tyler Shelvin opted out of the 2020 season with intentions of declaring for the 2021 NFL Draft.

In LSU’s tremendous 2019 campaign, the nose tackle was productive with 39 total tackles, three tackles for loss, and two passes batted down.

Listed at 6-foot-3, 346 pounds, Shelvin is a mountain of a man on the interior defensive line and would fit great as a base down 0T or 1T in Joe Woods’ defense.

The Browns have built one of the NFL’s most impressive groups in the trenches offensively, and adding a player like Shelvin in round three to go along with Jayson Oweh and the other holdovers from the 2020 roster would give this team a formidable group in the defensive trenches.

Every team wants to find a linebacker that can cover these ultra-athletic tight ends and running backs, but not many of those players really exist.

Taking Nasirildeen here would be somewhat of a risk from an injury perspective as he tore his ACL in 2019 and played just two games in 2020.

With that being said, Nasirildeen has tremendous versatility as a safety/linebacker and wore a number of hats for the Florida State defense. He has tremendous size, instincts, and cover ability for his position.

For Joe Woods, Nasirildeen could really move around the formation on all three downs and give him a weapon against those big, fast tight ends.
