2021 NFL Draft: Round 1, 5th overall

OT. Oregon. Penei Sewell. 5. Scouting Report. 56. Pick Analysis. player

This ridiculous run on quarterbacks at the top sets up a perfect situation for the Cincinnati Bengals. Penei Sewell is an elite offensive tackle prospect who will likely be off of the board at No. 5 overall. However, if these teams get a little crazy with the quarterbacks, Cincinnati could find themselves in a position to add Sewell to their offensive line mix.

Sewell shows an incredible combination of quickness and power up front that allows him to dominate as both a run blocker and pass protector. He is quick off of the snap and powerful at the point of attack. Sewell also moves extremely well in space and does a great job of mirroring opposing rushers on the edge.

Simply put, this guy is the best offensive tackle prospect to enter the NFL in a long time and undoubtedly has a bright future at the next level. The Bengals struggled mightily to protect Joe Burrow during his rookie season and they need to do whatever they can to fix that issue as quickly as possible. Adding Sewell to the mix would help solve their offensive line woes more than anything.

The only real question here is how the offensive line would shake about. Current left tackle Jonah Williams is the best offensive lineman on the Bengals’ roster. Would the Bengals move him to the right side to make room for Sewell? Would Sewell take over at right tackle? Would Williams move inside? All are viable options and it should not be anything for the team to worry about. If Sewell is available, he should be the easy pick for Cincy.
