2021 NFL Draft: Round 1, 20th overall

The Chicago Bears would also love to find a true franchise quarterback in the 2021 NFL Draft but their offense is simply not set up for a rookie signal-caller to have success. They have many holes on the offensive side of the ball and taking care of them before they get in a position to find a real franchise quarterback would be a strong path to success.

With the 20th overall pick of this mock draft, the Chicago Bears make the offensive line a priority by adding left tackle Samuel Cosmi to the mix. Cosmi is not the most NFL-ready prospect at the moment but he undoubtedly has a lot of upside as a left tackle at the next level.

Cosmi is an impressive athlete up front who moves well in space and shines in pass protection. He has long arms and he knows how to use them well in pass protection. Cosmi also has quick feet, attacking the second level with consistent success as a run blocker. Cosmi lacks the ideal power to dominate in the run game but he understands angles well and does a good job of keeping defenders away from the ball.

When it comes down to it, the Chicago Bears have a massive need at the offensive tackle position and Cosmi could be an impact player up front for many years. With this pick, the Bears look to secure the most important position on their offensive line. Adding Cosmi to the mix would be a great step towards putting this team in a strong position to support a franchise quarterback when they get that opportunity.
