Jaguars 2021 mock draft: Urban Meyer, Trevor Lawrence, and who else?
Jaguars 2021 mock draft: 3rd pick
When you invest a high draft choice in a quarterback, it’s crucial to give him the best support system possible.
The Jaguars could be losing left tackle Cam Robinson to free agency, so how about replacing him with another Crimson Tide lineman?
Robinson proved in 2020 that he can play well when healthy, but how much are the Jaguars willing to invest in that “maybe” situation?
Let’s say the Jaguars do bring Robinson back, the pick of Leatherwood still makes sense because he could probably be a starter at four positions on the offensive line.
As a matter of fact, in his time at Alabama, Leatherwood excelled as both a guard and a tackle, and plenty of people feel his best position transitioning to the NFL will be guard anyway.
With a player like Trevor Lawrence, you can’t really be taking any chances on the offensive line not being up to snuff. The investment in a player like Leatherwood here might be somewhat of a ‘boring’ pick but he’s going to come in and probably be a longtime starter in the NFL with the ability to plug and play right away at multiple positions.
