Colts hammer defensive needs in this seven-round 2021 NFL mock draft
2021 NFL mock draft: Round 5, 149th overall
Marlon Williams is a tough, physical and explosive wide receiver prospect who shines in contested catch situations. Williams shows impressive deep speed and is also an impact player after the catch. He displays good burst in the open field and maintains impressive contact balance for a wide receiver. Simply put, Williams is an impact playmaker at the wide receiver position who could easily have a bright future at the next level.
2021 NFL mock draft: Round 6, 182nd overall
The Colts address their need for a cornerback earlier in this 2021 NFL mock draft but there is still plenty of room for improvement at the position. Here, they find some nice late-round cornerback value with the selection of Olaijah Griffin out of USC.
Griffin is a former five-star prospect who shows impressive movement skills and athleticism at the cornerback position. He is smooth and explosive in coverage and attacks the ball in the air extremely well. Griffin does have a slight frame which significantly hurts him against bigger receivers but if he can bulk up a bit and maintain his athleticism, Griffin would undoubtedly shine at the next level.
2021 NFL mock draft: Round 7, 213th overall
With their final pick of this 2021 NFL mock draft, the Indianapolis Colts beef up their defensive attack again. Khyiris Tonga does not offer much as a pass rusher in the middle of the defensive line but he is a massive defensive lineman who shines as a run defender.
Tonga is extremely powerful at the point of attack. He uses his long arms and strong hands to his advantage on a consistent basis, eating up blocks in the middle with ease. Tonga is likely only an early-down defender at the next level but he is a tremendous run defender who can consistently shine in his role.
