Landon Dickerson, C, Alabama

Landon Dickerson has been one of the top centers in the nation since he transferred from Florida State after the 2018 season. In 2019, Dickerson was named to the second-team All-SEC. In 2020 he was having a strong season as well as he was graded out by the Alabama coaching staff with a 91.3 grade and was named first-team All-SEC. Unfortunately, his season came to an abrupt end in the SEC Championship as he suffered a season-ending knee injury.

Dickerson’s long injury history will likely be the issue that affects his draft status the most leading up to the 2021 NFL Draft. The first issue this could rise is will he be healthy enough to play in the Senior Bowl that he is scheduled to play in. The other issue with this is it is not the first time Dickerson has battled injuries.

While at Florida State, he saw his 2016, 2017 and 2018 years cut short due to injuries. Some of the issues he had with the Seminoles included a torn ACL and several ankle injuries. On the positive side, he did start 24 straight games for Alabama before suffering his latest injury.

While there is no doubt Dickerson has the overall skill set to play in the NFL, it is going to be hard for a team to invest a second-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft on someone with such a long injury history.
