Rookies Justin Jefferson and Chase Young named to the Pro Bowl
Two deserving rookies were named Pro Bowl selections on Monday.
The NFL released Pro Bowl voting results on Monday and two rookie players made the cut for the NFC team. Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson and Washington Football Team defensive end Chase Young were both deserving additions to the NFC Pro Bowl squad.
Jefferson was the 22nd overall selection for the Vikings in the 2020 NFL Draft and he has been able to come in and make a massive immediate impact for the team. Through 14 games, Jefferson has brought in 73 receptions for 1,182 yards and seven touchdowns.

He has been a consistent impact playmaker for the Vikings, showing impressive big-play ability from the slot and on the outside. Jefferson is a smooth and explosive athlete who is proving extremely difficult for even NFL defensive backs to handle. He is a deserving NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year candidate and undoubtedly has a bright future in Minnesota.
Young was the second overall selection by Washington in the 2020 NFL Draft. He was clearly the top defensive prospect in the draft class and he has also been an immediate contributor on his team. Young is an impact pass rusher who wins with explosive speed and incredible natural power at the point of attack. He shows the ability to consistently put pressure on the quarterback and is also an impact defensive lineman against the run.
Young’s numbers are not quite as gaudy as Jefferson’s (38 total tackles, eight tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks, three forced fumbles), but you do not have to watch much of a Washington game to see #99 out there making plays. The big numbers will come eventually, but Young is already playing extremely well for his team. This Pro Bowl nod may seem odd on paper, but Young is worthy of the selection.
