The 12-1 Kansas City Chiefs now control their own fate in the AFC, meaning if they can just win their final three games, they will be the top seed in the AFC. After their shocking loss to the Philadelphia Eagles last weekend, the New Orleans Saints no longer control their own fate, but they are undoubtedly still very much in the race for the top seed in the NFC. These two teams will face off on Sunday afternoon in an extremely important matchup for post-season seeding.

While Taysom Hill was able to keep things afloat, the Saints are undoubtedly happy to have Drew Brees back under center. Brees has missed the last four games with a rib injury but is apparently healthy enough to lead the Saints down the stretch. However, the Saints will now be without star wide receiver Michael Thomas for the rest of the regular season, as he will sit out due to a lingering ankle injury.

Having Brees back in the mix is obviously a good thing for the New Orleans Saints, but he immediately steps into a tough spot against the Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs’ defense is not perfect, but they are fast, physical and make a ton of plays on that side of the ball. Plus, Patrick Mahomes plays quarterback for the other team.

As per usual, Mahomes has the Chiefs’ offense rolling. They are putting up a league-leading 429.2 total yards per game and are also at the top of the league with 31 points scored per game. Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce pair to form the best playmaking duo in the entire league and Mahomes is an absolute magician at getting them the ball in space.

This Chiefs’ offense appears unstoppable at times, but the Saints’ defense has also been incredible this season. This matchup against the New Orleans defense will likely be the toughest test yet for Mahomes and company this season.
