I think it’s fair to say that the Chicago Bears completely whiffed on their Mitchell Trubisky selection. For the Bears, you have to forget about who you could have had in 2017 and focus on who you can get in the 2021 NFL Draft. Even if that means making a move, I think the Chicago Bears need to land a top quarterback.

By making a deal with the Carolina Panthers, the Bears jump ahead of the quarterback-needy Washington Football Team and get their pick of the remaining quarterbacks.

At this point in the 2021 NFL Draft, there are a couple of viable options. With his play lately, Zach Wilson has solidified himself as a legitimate NFL prospect and could wind up coming off the board even earlier in the 2021 NFL Draft.

Wilson is a fun player to watch. He plays with swag and always seems to be making an impressive, entertaining play. He has outstanding touch deep down the field, with the arm strength to launch it nearly the entire length of the field.

Like most quarterbacks nowadays, Wilson is an impressive athlete who can run the ball and extend plays with his feet. He does a great job of keeping his eyes downfield and has the arm talent to make nearly any throw, even off sequence.

Wilson doesn’t have the most experience, and it shows at times with his ability to read defenses. However, Wilson continues to get better and better every game that he plays, even if it is against lower-level competition.

The more Wilson plays, I think the higher he will climb up 2021 draft boards. He has all the tools to become a top NFL quarterback and offensive coaches, like Matt Nagy if he’s still around or possibly a guy like Eric Bieniemy, would love to mold into their offense.

He may not make Bears fans forgot about the fact that they could have Patrick Mahomes right now, but he should be an immediate upgrade over what they have right now. If they hold onto Nick Foles as a bridge and give Wilson some time to develop, I like Wilson’s chances of becoming a star at the next level.
