Jacksonville Jaguars seven-round 2021 NFL mock draft
Round 5, 164th Overall
Rookie Davon Hamilton has been great for the Jacksonville Jaguars at defensive tackle this season, but the team does lack ideal depth at the position. Later in the fifth round of this mock draft, the Jags scoop up some interior defensive line depth with the addition of Clemson defensive tackle Jordan Williams.
Williams is a smart and physical defensive lineman who shows impressive power at the point of attack. He does a great job of filling his gap and taking care of his responsibility against the run and reacts to what the offense is doing extremely quickly.
While he does not offer much as a pass rusher right now, Williams is quick off of the ball and could have some upside in that area later in his career. At worst, he will be a strong and stable run defender who will have obvious value on early downs and the goal line.
Round 7, 223rd Overall
While Williams is more of a big run stuffer on the inside, Carlo Kemp is quick and shows plenty of ability as a penetration player. Kemp is a bit on the smaller side, but his explosive first step, strong hands and overall athletic ability make him an exciting player who could grow into a strong one-gap penetrator at the next level. He is undoubtedly a gifted player who is worth taking a shot on late in the draft.
Round 7, 248th Overall
With their final pick of this mock draft, the Jacksonville Jaguars go back to the defensive line and add Iowa defensive end Chauncey Golston to the mix. Golston is not the most explosive player on the edge, but he displays a quick first step and shows good power at the point of attack.
He can generate pressure in the bull rush and sets the edge at an extremely high level. Simply put, Golston is a disciplined and tough football player who can be a valuable asset at the next level.
