There is not a more historic rivalry in the NFL than the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears. These two organizations have been around since the beginning and have played many important and exciting games against each other. While the 7-3 Packers currently lead the NFC North, do not count out the 5-5 Bears just yet. This important Sunday Night Football matchup will go a long way towards determining who wins the NFC North this season.
As per usual, Aaron Rodgers will be under center for the Packers, and he will look to improve on his 19-5 career record against the Bears. Rodgers will likely target star receiver Davante Adams early and often in this one. Adams has been a consistent target for Rodgers and the Packers all year long, piling up 68 receptions for 847 yards and 10 touchdowns. He has missed some time due to injury, but Adams’ 105.9 receiving yards per game is the most in the NFL.
The biggest story in this game is probably the quarterback on the other side of the field. Mitchell Trubisky will return to the field for the Bears, stepping in for injured starter Nick Foles.
Trubisky, the former second overall selection, began the year as the Bears’ starting quarterback, but lost his job all the way back in Week 3. Now, the Bears will turn back to Trubisky and hope that their young quarterback can get them back on track.
This could be Trubisky’s last chance to prove himself in Chicago, as his contract is up with the Bears after the season. Unless he looks like a completely different quarterback down the stretch, it is difficult to see Trubisky in Chicago after the year.
