Rams rookie Jordan Fuller picks off Tom Brady twice on MNF
Rams rookie Jordan Fuller got two picks off the GOAT Tom Brady.
The Los Angeles Rams have somewhat quietly bounced back from a disappointing 2019 season.
After a 13-3 finish in 2018 and a Super Bowl appearance, the Rams dropped to 9-7 in the 2019 season and even though that record is typically good enough at least for a Wild Card spot, the Rams missed out on the postseason.
So far in the 2020 season, the Rams are 7-3 and are fresh off of a victory on Monday Night Football against Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
While the Rams’ offense is still well-rounded, they rank just 17th in the NFL this season in points per game. It’s the Rams’ defense in year one under rookie defensive coordinator Brandon Staley that has been extremely impressive.
The Rams’ defense ranks second-best in the NFL in points allowed (19.2 points per game) and number one in yards allowed. The Rams also rank seventh in the league right now with 15 turnovers forced in 10 games.
Two of those turnovers came against Brady and the Buccaneers, both by rookie safety Jordan Fuller.
Fuller intercepted two Tom Brady passes and will undoubtedly be putting those balls in his trophy room at some point to tell his kids and grandchildren about.

Fuller didn’t have to do too much on those interceptions — he followed Brady’s eyes and was in the perfect position to make a play both times.
With that said, these interceptions by Fuller are the latest evidence of Brandon Staley’s defensive tactics working for players in the system, regardless of draft status.
In Fuller’s case, his draft status really makes these two interceptions in a huge win for the Rams stand out.
Fuller, the 199th overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft picked off the most famous 199th overall pick of all.
And these two represent an NFL version of a Michigan-Ohio State rivalry as well, no less.
When Brady was selected 199th overall in the 2000 NFL Draft, Fuller was barely two years old. Now, 20 years after Brady was drafted by the Patriots, the former Ohio State safety has his first two career interceptions off of the greatest to ever do it.
