Denver Broncos top 2021 pick

The Denver Broncos get an absolute steal with their top pick in this 2021 mock draft in Patrick Surtain II.

It’s become obvious that the Broncos will need to address the cornerback position in the 2021 NFL Draft with AJ Bouye struggling with some injuries in 2020 and Bryce Callahan also never having played a full season in the NFL.

The Broncos could still go into the 2021 season counting on Callahan, Bouye, and rookies Michael Ojemudia/Essang Bassey to play a substantial amount of snaps. The ideal scenario would involve Ojemudia and Bassey emerging as true full-time players and Callahan eventually getting an extension, but the Broncos couldn’t pass on this kind of star talent.

Surtain has the type of physical play that Vic Fangio loves and he has been one of the most consistently good defensive backs in college football over the past three seasons.

After taking Alabama receiver Jerry Jeudy on top of their 2020 class, this would mark the second straight Crimson Tide player for the Broncos with their top pick in the draft.
