2021 NFL Draft: Three-round 2021 NFL mock draft with top 10 surprises
2021 NFL Draft: Round 2, 51st Overall
Jabril Cox transferred to LSU for this season in order to prove himself against top-tier competition. So far so good, as he has been a strong force in the middle of the field for the Tigers and should be considered a likely second-day selection in the 2021 NFL Draft.
Cox is an athletic linebacker prospect who is particularly impressive in man-to-man coverage. He matches up well against most players in the middle of the field, using his combination of speed and physicality to keep opposing playmakers in check. Cox also shows solid block-shed ability and is a reliable tackler in space. The Eagles find a strong defensive playmaker with this pick.
2021 NFL Draft: Round 2, 52nd Overall
While I doubt that it takes this long for a running back to come off of the board in the actual 2021 NFL Draft, I would not be surprised if the entire position falls to the second round. Whenever the first back comes off of the board, Travis Etienne should be the guy.
Etienne is an extremely explosive running back who hits the hole hard and is a threat to take it to the house from anywhere on the field. He also generates some serious power when he is able to build up some speed, making him difficult to bring down in space. The Dolphins continue to use their bounty of picks to improve, finding a dynamic offensive weapon here.
2021 NFL Draft: Round 2, 53rd Overall
Carlos Basham Jr. is not the most explosive or athletic edge rusher in the 2021 NFL Draft class, but he is a tough and physical player who would fit the Raiders well. Basham is powerful at the point of attack and does a great job of setting the edge. He is solid as a pass rusher, strong as a run defender and completely reliable at all times.
The Raiders are building their team around players who are not afraid to get physical and Basham would certainly fit the bill.
