2021 NFL Draft: Three-round 2021 NFL mock draft with top 10 surprises
2021 NFL Draft: Round 1, 28th Overall
With Matthew Judon, Tyus Bowser and Pernell McPhee all hitting unrestricted free agency this offseason, edge rusher may be the top priority for the Baltimore Ravens in the 2021 NFL Draft. The Ravens have done a fantastic job of finding value at the position later in the draft in recent years, but they take their edge defender immediately in this mock draft.
Patrick Jones II has really grown as a player this season, showing impressive ability as a speed rusher on the outside. Jones is quick off of the ball and does a great job of creating fantastic upfield burst. He bends around the edge with ease and shows a fantastic inside that move that he can mix in there with success as well.
Jones is certainly more of a speed rusher, but he can hold his own on the edge and consistently plays with a high motor. The Ravens allow their edge defenders to attack the quarterback, but they do expect them to be able to hold their own against the run. Jones is at his best when he is allowed to pin his ears back and attack, but he can play disciplined football as well.
The Ravens need to find some talent at the edge rusher position and Jones undoubtedly has value in this range. If nothing else, Jones could come in and make an immediate impact as a situational rusher for this team.
