This pick may come as a shock in the fourth round for the Atlanta Falcons, given other needs, but the running back position needs some electricity and excitement added to it. Todd Gurley is only signed for 2020, and Brian Hill is also a free agent after the season.

Javian Hawkins hasn’t had too much buzz yet, but in a running back class with uncertainty after the top two, he could find his way up boards by April. Hawkins brings excellent burst and speed to the table with the ability to take any run to the house.

Double dipping at edge? In this mock, yes. Getting after the quarterback needs to be a priority in the offseason for the Falcons, and adding Rousseau doesn’t finish the job. Joshua Kaindoh has intriguing tools and athleticism to be a developmental prospect with high upside. He’s well worth a selection to eventually rush opposite Rousseau in the future.

Pick Analysis. Kellen Mond. 6. player. Scouting Report. Quarterback. Texas A&M. 873

The Atlanta Falcons mock finishes up with a quarterback. It seems unlikely the Falcons would opt to tear everything down, so getting a better backup late in the draft makes more sense. The draft community continues to struggle with Kellen Mond‘s stock, as he’s played wildly inconsistent football at Texas A&M.

However, the risk is well worth it in the sixth round. While Mond may never be an elite quarterback, he could easily become a serviceable backup in Atlanta with the tools to win games when called upon.
