Elijah Moore continues to establish himself as a 2021 NFL Draft prospect to watch.

The first year of the Lane Kiffin era at Ole Miss has not always been successful, but it has been fun. The Rebels are 3-4 on the year, but they have figured out how to put points on the board, averaging 41 points per contest against their SEC competition. Kiffin has put together an exciting offensive attack and nobody has benefitted more from this new system than wide receiver Elijah Moore.

Moore had another massive showing over the weekend, catching 13 passes for 225 yards and two touchdowns against South Carolina. Through the first seven games of the year, Moore has piled up 74 receptions for 1,054 yards and eight touchdowns, leading the nation in both receptions and receiving yards. Simply put, he has been amazing and is establishing himself as a 2021 NFL Draft prospect to watch each and every week.

The 2021 NFL Draft class is absolutely loaded with talent at the wide receiver position. There is legitimate premier talent at the top of the class and legitimate depth throughout. It is not going to be easy for someone to come out of nowhere and rise the wide receiver ranks, but Moore’s play on the field this season cannot be ignored.

Moore is small, but talented

Moore is listed at 5-foot-9, 185 pounds, which likely means that he will primarily play out of the slot at the next level. However, that is not necessarily a bad thing. With many teams using three and four wide receiver sets more than ever before, there are almost always going to be opportunities for a receiver in the slot. Moore has the quickness and natural route-running ability to be a consistent playmaker in the position at the next level.

The Ole Miss product is an extremely elusive and explosive player who uses his quick feet well to shake defenders at the line of scrimmage. If he shines in the short passing game, quickly shaking himself free and creating after the catch at a high level. Moore also shows plenty of speed in the deep passing game and tracks the ball in the air extremely well. He is also a tough receiver who is not afraid to go over the middle and make plays, despite his small stature.

Moore is extremely unlikely to put himself in the first-round conversation by next April, but he is undoubtedly a gifted prospect who can be an exciting weapon at the next level. Somebody is going to take a chance on this guy on Day 2 of the 2021 NFL Draft.
