Eagles add athletic linebacker

Pick Analysis. LB. player. Scouting Report. Notre Dame. Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah. 19. 54

The Philadelphia Eagles are a shell of the team that we saw win Super Bowl LII, but they are still good enough to win the NFC East. However, that isn’t saying much. The NFC East is by far the worst division in football, but someone has to win it. In this case, it’s the Eagles, but a quick playoff exit puts them as the first playoff team picking in the 2021 NFL Draft.

The Eagles offensive line has been completely depleted by injuries, but they’ve managed to fill in the gaps. Hoping that the unit is full strength next year, Philadelphia can invest in their defense.

A large part of the Super Bowl team’s success in Philly was their linebackers. The unit was both strong on the field and strong on the depth chart. Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah is a step to getting back to just that.

Owusu-Koramoah is a bit undersized at just 215 pounds, but he fits the new breed of linebacker that we’re seeing. It’s almost a safety, linebacker hybrid that can rush and stuff the run while also dropping back into coverage with the ability to cover tight ends in man-to-man coverage.

The other three teams in the NFC East have increasingly used tight ends this season, so adding an athletic linebacker to match up with them will be a massive upgrade for the Eagles.
