USC. player. 123. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. EDGE. Everson Griffen. 97

In four appearances for the Dallas Cowboys, Everson Griffen has totaled 1 sack and 13 tackles while being paid $6 million for the year. After coming from Minnesota as a bargain addition to the pass-rush, Griffen’s lack of production has been one part of the many issues plaguing the defensive unit.

After having double-digit sack totals in 3 of 4 years from 2014 to 2017, Griffen has begun to slow but is still posting respectable numbers. Any team bringing Griffen on can expect upwards of 6.5 sacks per year and knows that they have a hefty 4-3 edge set on the outside of the run defense.

Griffen’s $6 million price tag can be difficult to get over, but with the cap space available throughout the league, there are a number of places that could accommodate him.

Seattle has been relying upon the arms and legs of Russell Wilson so far in 2020, and scooping an inexpensive addition to help shore up any needs on the defensive front would be crucial to a successful postseason run.
