NFL Trade Deadline 2020: Top trade targets from each division
By Ian Higgins
The 2017 NFL Draft’s Mr. Forty. Breaking the forty-yard dash record with a 4.22, John Ross has failed to meet the expectations laid out for him as the third wide receiver off of the board at ninth overall. Even with a collection of game-breaking play in college, Ross has struggled to replicate this success with quarterback woes and a lack of growth.
With Joe Burrow becoming the franchise centerpiece for the Bengals organization, he has already made known who his favorite targets are so far in 2020. Rookie Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd have developed the strongest connection with the rookie, dominating the team target totals with recovering star A.J. Green. Put simply, Ross is the odd one out in this Bengals receiving group.
Many teams around the league would be willing to welcome in a new speedster from free agency, but a handful of teams may be willing to part ways with a mid-late round pick in exchange for Ross. After a sluggish week six performance against Denver, New England could be looking to add explosiveness on the outside to help Newton and company.
