2021 NFL Draft: Jaylen Waddle is WR1 in 2021 NFL mock draft
2021 NFL Draft: Round 1, 8th Overall
Ja’Marr Chase is considered by most to be the top wide receiver prospect in the 2021 NFL Draft class, but this is a loaded group of receivers with many players who could be considered WR1. Jaylen Waddle out of Alabama is certainly near the top of the list and stands out as an ideal fit for the Miami Dolphins here at No. 8.
Waddle is an explosive playmaker who shows an elite combination of speed and quickness on the field. He shows impressive elusiveness in the open field and has the speed to beat anybody deep. Waddle is a true threat at all levels of the defense and has the explosive playmaking needed to take it to the house from anywhere on the field.
Speed reigns supreme in today’s NFL and Waddle is arguably the fastest player in the entire 2021 NFL Draft class. His raw playmaking ability is incredibly impressive and will make an immediate impact player at the next level.
Waddle is obviously impressive physically, but he also understands how to play the position well. He is a sharp route runner who uses his speed well to create space, he tracks the ball in the air extremely well and also shows soft hands.
Simply put, Waddle is an incredible natural playmaker who is going to be a problem for opposing defenses at the next level. Wide receiver is a major need for the Dolphins going forward and Waddle’s familiarity with quarterback Tua Tagovailoa does not hurt either.
