2021 NFL Draft: Round 1, 13th Overall

87. Scouting Report. TE. Florida. Kyle Pitts. player. Pick Analysis. 13

Led by head coach Matt Rhule, the Carolina Panthers have been much better than nearly anybody expected this season. Rhule clearly has this organization on track and they will be looking to find players to help them take the next step in the 2021 NFL Draft.

After picking all defensive players in the draft last year, I would not be surprised to see the Panthers looking to add some offensive playmakers early this year. Florida tight end Kyle Pitts has been absolutely fantastic this season and stands out as a strong fit for Carolina here.

Pitts is listed as a tight end, but if we are being honest, he is essentially a big wide receiver. He lines up out wide or in the slot on nearly every play and shows tremendous natural playmaking at all times. Pitts is a big and athletic target who can separate from defenders in the middle of the field and shows impressive run-after-catch upside.

Pitts is also a fantastic contested-catch receiver who is going to be a massive red-zone weapon at the next level. Simply put, Pitts should become a legitimate matchup nightmare in the NFL and could quickly become an important weapon for the Carolina Panthers. Call him a tight end if you wish, but Pitts is really an exciting offensive weapon who gives the Panthers another exciting offensive player to build around.
