2021 NFL Draft: Round 1, 11th Overall

Pick Analysis. IOL. 11. player. Scouting Report. Oklahoma. Creed Humphrey. 59

This pick comes to Miami via the Houston Texans

This feels like an odd spot for the Miami Dolphins. The best players on the board simply do not match up well with their team needs, making a trade down a tempting option if it were available. However, we are not trading in this mock draft and the Dolphins use this opportunity to get their young quarterback some help.

The Dolphins have done a nice job of making improvements along their offensive line and have put together a group that should perform well both now and in the future. That being said, they still have a major need for a long-term center and Oklahoma’s Creed Humphrey is the best center prospect in the 2021 NFL Draft class.

Humphrey is an extremely smart offensive lineman who understands where to be and who to block on every play. He is a mean and nasty blocker who consistently plays with great pad level and does a great job of finishing blocks. Humphrey also shows quick feet in both the run game and as a pass protector.

Simply put, Humphrey is a rock-solid center prospect who is going to be a dependable player on the inside for many years. Taking him at No. 11 may seem like a bit of a reach, but Humphrey would undoubtedly be a positive addition to an improving Dolphins’ offensive attack.
