New York Jets Mock Draft: Round 1, 31st Overall

Georgia. Eric Stokes. player. Scouting Report. CB. 31. 814. Pick Analysis

The Jets certainly have some key needs on the offensive side of the ball, but their defense undoubtedly needs some work as well. In particular, cornerback stands out as a massive position of need for this team and they address that need with the addition of Eric Stokes with their late first-round selection.

Stokes has always shown a great combination of size, length and athleticism on the outside. He is quick in short spaces and also displays high-level long speed. Stokes has always been a gifted player with intriguing upside, but he is taking his game to the next level this season.

He has become a much more physically strong defender this season and has significantly improved his ball skills. Stokes is starting to reach his upside as a top-notch man coverage defender and would be an ideal target for the New York Jets in this range.

New York Jets Mock Draft: Round 2, 33rd Overall

player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Chris Olave. 33. WR. Ohio State. 812

The Jets go back on the clock just two picks later and snag an offensive playmaker for their new franchise quarterback. Chris Olave is a smooth and explosive receiver who shows impressive natural route-running ability. He shows the ability to separate well against man coverage and has a knack for finding space against zone.

Olave also tracks the ball extremely well and does a fantastic job of controlling his body when he is in the air. The Jets have a major need for more impact talent at the wide receiver position and Olave should be able to come in and be an immediate contributor for the team.
