2. Jaylon Johnson the best rookie CB in the NFC North

As great as Jeff Okudah was in 2019 for the Ohio State Buckeyes, it’s been wild to see former Utah Utes defensive back Jaylon Johnson establish himself as one of the best rookies in the NFL period, but certainly the best young cornerback in the NFC North.

Okudah has been fine with an interception and pass breakup thus far, but he’s also allowed 75 percent of the passes thrown into his coverage to be completed.

Jaylon Johnson, on the other hand, is second-best in the entire NFL at the cornerback position, allowing just 44.7 percent of the throws into his coverage to be completed.

Johnson is also tied with Denzel Ward for second in the NFL among cornerbacks with seven pass breakups.

Obviously because of his draft standing, most expected that kind of instant impact from Okudah. Johnson was selected in the second round, which is a testament to the incredible depth of this rookie class overall, but also a major oversight by teams in round one who clearly missed on a first-round guy for 49 picks.
