3. Denver Broncos

The Denver Broncos had Haskins in for a pre-draft visit ahead of the 2019 NFL Draft, and there was a genuine belief in Broncos Country that he could be their pick at 10 overall.

When the Broncos traded down and passed on Haskins, they proved they didn’t think he was quite franchise QB material at the time, but that doesn’t mean they didn’t like him as a prospect.

John Elway had to be flattered when Haskins rolled into the Broncos’ facility wearing Elway’s throwback jersey, and even though that tactic didn’t exactly pan out in terms of Haskins being the 10th overall pick, he certainly made an impression.

Drew Lock has had injury issues the past two seasons with Denver, and the Broncos’ quarterback woes are well-documented at this point.

In addition to the Broncos doing a ton of pre-draft homework on Haskins, Haskins was considered by current Denver offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur who held the 6th overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.

You have to wonder what Shurmur felt about Haskins considering Daniel Jones was David Gettleman’s selection.

If the Broncos and Shurmur both liked Haskins, why not buy low on him and see if he can develop?
