Washington Football Team: Chase Young has great debut performance
Chase Young was fantastic for the Washington Football Team in his NFL debut on Sunday.
It is a new era in the nation’s capital. Ron Rivera led the Washington Football Team to a 27-17 upset victory over the Philadelphia Eagles in his debut as the team’s head coach on Sunday. They played a strong game overall, but the Washington defensive line led the way in this one, consistently making life difficult on quarterback Carson Wentz and helping keep the Eagles’ offense in check.
The Washington Football Team has put together one of the most gifted defensive lines in the entire league and rookie edge rusher Chase Young is going to be a major part of their success. Young was the second overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft and made an immediate impact for the Washington Football Team in his debut.
On Sunday, Chase Young was credited with four total tackles, one quarterback hit and 1.5 sacks. His first career sack came in the first quarter as he abused future Hall of Fame left tackle Jason Peters with a devastating spin move on his way to the quarterback. It was an impressive play and while Young did not put up massive numbers in this game, he was a consistent force to be reckoned with on the edge.
Washington was credited with eight total sacks against the Eagles, with seven of them coming from their incredibly talented defensive line group. The defensive line is clearly the strength of this team and Young looked like the most difficult player to block up front on Sunday. Make no mistake about it, this guy is going to a star for this team.
With so much talent surrounding Young on the defensive line, the Washington Football Rookie will have an opportunity to put up massive numbers this season. Opposing defenses simply will not be able to key on him and attack him with many blockers. If they do, teammates like Ryan Kerrigan, Montez Sweat and Jonathan Allen will make them pay.
Simply put, Chase Young is a fantastic football player who proved that he can do it at the NFL level on Sunday. Young is set up for a monster rookie season and will quickly become one of the most feared defensive players in the entire NFL.
