2021 NFL Draft Round 2, Pick 1

Michigan. Aidan Hutchinson. 33. Pick Analysis. player. 52. Scouting Report. EDGE

The Jaguars snagged their franchise quarterback and a dynamic tight end in the first round, but turn their attention to the defense to kick off the second round of this mock draft. Aidan Hutchinson is a bigger edge prospect, but his combination of power and quickness is undoubtedly impressive. I could see Hutchinson making and impact as an early-down edge defender who kicks inside on obvious passing downs.

2021 NFL Draft Round 2, Pick 2

58. Scouting Report. Tennessee. Trey Smith. 34. player. Pick Analysis. OL

I like the idea of Trey Smith to Washington here. They have a massive need at the left tackle position and Smith was a dominant player there early in his college career. Washington could stick Smith at left tackle and let him work to establish himself at the position. If it doesn’t work out, they could simply move him back inside where they know that they will likely have a dominant offensive guard on their hands.

2021 NFL Draft Round 2, Pick 3

Scouting Report. LSU. Jabril Cox. 35. player. Pick Analysis. LB. 87

Jabril Cox is an extremely athletic linebacker prospect who shows great instincts on the field. He had a dominant three-year stretch at North Dakota State and will play the 2020 season at LSU as he looks to prove himself against SEC competition. If Cox plays well this season, his 2021 NFL Draft stock could go through the roof.

The Panthers loaded up on defense in the 2020 draft, but could certainly stand to add more talent at the linebacker position. Cox is a gifted, smart and experienced player who could bring immediate and long-term value to the Panthers’ defense.
