The disappointment was high for fans of the Green Bay Packers after the 2020 NFL Draft, a draft where Brian Gutekunst and company decided against drafting a wide receiver (here’s a mock for 2021 to cure the sadness).

Obviously Davante Adams will receive a ton of targets this year as the far-and-away WR1 in Green Bay, but who will take up the WR2 mantle? It won’t be Devin Funchess, who decided to opt-out earlier this week.

Could it be Allen Lazard, the UDFA who stepped up big last season? He has high point ability and can win in contested spots through contact. It’s clear he gained the trust of Rodgers as the season went on.

Marquez Valdes-Scantling will make the team, but this is the year for him to make serious strides. He’s still understanding how to use his speed effectively and needs to work on tracking the football deep down the field. He’s still everyone’s pick to be the breakout player at wide receiver.

Equanimeous St. Brown is the sleeper of the group. He excelled when given a chance in the slot in 2018, but missed all of 2019 with injury.

Jake Kumerow would have been on the bubble but now he’s likely to make the roster because of experience. Reggie Begelton is the new fan-favorite to make an impact, and Darrell Stewart should make some noise with Funchess out of the picture.
