2021 NFL Draft prospects to watch: Big 12 Conference

Oklahoma – Charleston Rambo, Wide Receiver, Redshirt Junior
Oklahoma has become known for producing quarterbacks each of the last three seasons with Baker Mayfield, Kyler Murray and Jalen Hurts, but with Spencer Rattler being just a redshirt freshman, the door is open for a new position to emerge from the offense. However, it seems likely that Charleston Rambo could be the next in a different pedigree line that includes Marquise Brown and CeeDee Lamb.
During the 2019 season Lamb hauled in 62 receptions for 1,327 and 14 touchdowns. All those stats have to go somewhere in Lincoln Riley’s offense. Following the trend that saw Lamb emerge from behind Brown on the depth chart, Rambo will be the next man up in the Sooners downfield threats.
Last season, Rambo was second on the team in catches (43), receiving yards (743) and touchdowns (5) while having the longest catch of the season for the Sooners at 74 yards. Lamb was first in all the categories that Rambo was second, indicating that Rambo’s time to shine is coming.
Although his numbers weren’t as impressive as Lamb’s when Lamb was the No. 2 wide receiver behind Brown, the production was still there for Rambo last season. If he can come close to Lamb’s numbers from last year, specifically the 14 touchdown mark, then he should warrant high draft consideration in the 2021 NFL Draft.
