Bust Running Back – Ke’Shawn Vaughn, Vanderbilt

Projecting running back busts is probably the most difficult in fantasy football because there are so many variables to consider, not to mention committees. However, given the past in Tampa Bay, this seems the most likely. Some are projecting Ke’Shawn Vaughn to see the majority of the touches out of the backfield for the Buccaneers, but we’ve heard this story before.

Ronald Jones out of college was supposed to be a strong back for the Bucs. Even recently Dare Ogunbowale was apparently going to be the bell cow. Both of them are still on the roster, and both of them disappointed statistically from where they were projected. If the story continues, Vaughn is the next disappointment.

Some might say that the Bruce Arians offense and arrival of Tom Brady changes all that, but it might not. With all the weapons and depth in the passing game at both wide receiver and tight end, there will be few touches to spread to the running backs through the air and the offense is built on passing.

With multiple running backs to use as well, the carries will be spread thin across the group, making it difficult for any of them to be a top producing player in fantasy football.
