Wide Receiver (6, 16/53)

  • 1. Sterling Shepard (slot)
  • 2. Darius Slayton
  • 3. Golden Tate III
  • 4. Corey Coleman
  • 5. Cody Core
  • 6. Binjimen Victor

This is a position that will have a lot of competition for the Giants. Behind their top three receivers, there isn’t much certainty of who’s the next man up. Shepard and Tate both missed time last season. Shepard only played in 10 games because of injury, and Tate only played in 11 due to suspension.

But when they played, they proved to have nice chemistry with Daniel Jones. If both are able to stay on the field, expect big things from the duo.

Slayton, on the other side, was able to impress and shatter his rookie expectations. He was able to gain 748 yards on 48 catches and add 8 touchdowns. The former 5th round pick proved that he will be a big-time asset for Jones for years to come.

Behind them, expect to see Coleman and Core make the roster. Coleman was starting to make noise for the Giants before a torn ACL ended his season. He played in 8 games and was a nice deep threat and special teams contributor. As was Cody Core, which is why he should also make the team.

The final roster spot is up for grabs. I can see one of Austin Mack, Binjimen Victor, or David Sills making the roster. For this purpose, I added Victor because of his size and red-zone ability. At 6’4″ and 199 pounds, Victor has the height and body control to go up and get the football. He also is shifty with the ball in his hands and can juke out defenders to make big plays.
