Inside linebacker (5, 43/53)

  • 1. Todd Davis
  • 2. Alexander Johnson
  • 3. Josey Jewell
  • 4. Joe Jones
  • 5. Justin Strnad (rookie)

The Broncos have a pair of solid inside linebackers starting in Alexander Johnson and Todd Davis.

Behind them, there are some question marks but also there is upside.

Josey Jewell is entering his third NFL season, and while he hasn’t developed into a full-time starter at this point, he’s a valuable reserve and excellent special teams player.

Joe Jones is one of the top special teams players on Denver’s roster and is kept around for that phase of the game, while rookie Justin Strnad is hopefully the Broncos’ version of Fred Warner (49ers).

Strnad has tremendous instincts and as a former defensive back, he is able to play coverage unlike many linebackers who just attack the line of scrimmage. He could be a starter down the line.
