Running back (4, 9/53)

  • 1. Ezekiel Elliott
  • 2. Tony Pollard
  • 3. Rico Dowdle (UDFA)
  • 4. Jamize Olawale (FB)

Ezekiel Elliott and Tony Pollard are locks for the Cowboys’ roster in 2020, but it gets interesting behind that.

The Cowboys obviously like 2018 undrafted free agent Jeremy Chunn enough to have kept him around this long, but Mike McCarthy may bring fresh eyes and prefer someone else behind Elliott and Pollard.

Among the Cowboys’ undrafted free agents in 2020 are Darius Anderson and Sewo Olonilua out of TCU and South Carolina’s Rico Dowdle. Before seeing any of these guys compete on the field, it’s hard to say which one is going to potentially crack the 53-man roster but I really liked what I saw out of Rico Dowdle when healthy.

He has the best athletic profile of the three and some explosive traits.

While he was in Green Bay, McCarthy used fullbacks plenty, so Jamize Olawale should have a spot on the team.
