QB1 to the NFL, How Netflix could shape the NFL Draft
By Kyle Edmond
Season 2: Justin Fields, Quarterback, Ohio State (Georgia)
Like the first season of the show, the second season kicked off with a tophigh school prospect who eventually had intentions of going to Georgia. Justin Fields entered the show as the top dual-threat prospect in the nation, according to multiple rankings, and didn’t disappoint, showing off his highlight-reel play after play.
Signing with Georgia and being behind Jake Fromm, it didn’t take long for Fields to add his name to the list of the show’s alums that transferred, moving on to Ohio State.
First at Georgia, Fields played in 12 of 14 games with the Bulldogs and was named a freshman All-SEC. However, since becoming a Buckeye, Fields has lived up to the hype and has entered the conversation of being one of the top quarterback prospects in the 2021 NFL Draft. A 2019 Heisman finalist, Fields hauled in a slew of awards at the conclusion of the season and garnered the attention of the nation at the helm of Ohio State.
Now, as Fields looks ahead to his junior season and the NFL Draft, fans of the show can reflect on the high school senior that seamlessly transferred his highlight reel to the collegiate level. Although there are still around 11 months before Fields will be drafted, should he declare and forego his senior season, it’s already obvious that the show nailed it with selecting to follow Fields.
