31. Kansas City Chiefs: Carlos Basham, Edge Rusher, Wake Forest

Yes, I have the Chiefs returning to the Super Bowl and I really don’t have any reason to believe they won’t. The majority of their key players are returning and those that aren’t have been replaced, but that doesn’t mean they repeat. After a 12-4 season, Kansas City returns to the Super Bowl, but falls short this time around. Luckily, they still have plenty of time to continue to build their dynasty.

As for the 2021 NFL Draft, the Chiefs should look to add another edge rusher. They replaced Dee Ford with Frank Clark, but they lack a rotation at the position. Basham would provide that force to free up the others on the line.

In 2019, Basham registered 10 sacks and 18 tackles for loss at Wake Forest, an increase from 4.5 sacks and 11 tackles for loss in 2018. If he can continue to show improvement off the edge, then he should easily enter the first-round conversation.

In 2019, the Chiefs totaled just 36 sacks with 17 of those coming from Clark and Chris Jones. Adding Basham gives Kansas City a three-headed monster off the edge to rotate to not only keep legs fresh but be more creative in defensive packages to create unusual pressure from different angles.
