2021 NFL Draft: Washington Redskins get top pick in new mock draft

32. New Orleans Saints: Rashod Bateman, Wide Receiver, Minnesota
And there you have it, the Saints win the Super Bowl. I really want to see Drew Brees win another ring and I think this could be the year. After an impressive, and league-best, 14-2 season, the Saints overcome the adversity of past seasons and return to the Super Bowl and capture another title for NOLA. However, if there’s anything that could keep them from doing so, it would be their receivers.
Michael Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders will hold down the fort, but beyond them there are few targets for the Saints. That’s why in the 2021 NFL Draft they need to address that need, and they do to close out the first round by returning to the Big Ten pool and selecting Rashod Bateman.
Bateman falling this far would be a shock to many, but we’ve seen it happen before, especially with such a deep wide receiver class. At 6-2, 210 Bateman has a near-identical frame to Michael Thomas, just an inch shorter, so the plan is already being laid down for how to make Bateman one of the best in the league.
Regardless of who is under center during the 2021 season for the Saints, they would be ecstatic to have both Thomas and Bateman to throw to.
