26. Minnesota Vikings: Joe Tryon, Edge Rusher, Washington

Similar to the Bills in the AFC East, the Vikings have a huge opportunity ahead of them. With the Bears and Lions spinning their tires while the Packers make questionable draft selections, the Vikings have a chance for a big leap in their division.

They have Danielle Hunter on the edge, but they lack a compliment on the other side. During the 2019 season, Hunter led the team with 14.5 sacks while the rest of the team combined for 28, but eight of those belonged to Everson Griffen who is still a free agent. Ifeadi Odenigbo had seven, but no one else on the roster had more than 3.5, meaning if the Vikings want to stick with three pass rushers to rotate, they’ll be one shy without Griffen.

In the 2021 NFL Draft, that’s what the Vikings need to focus on adding, a compliment on the other side, or at least someone to rotate in. Tryon can wreak havoc in almost any backfield and would bring a new energy to the Minnesota defensive line.

With Washington in 2019, Tryon totaled eight sacks, but more impressively had 12.5 tackles for loss. Should he make similar strides in his 2020 junior season, then he should find his name in the first round of most mock drafts leading up to the 2021 NFL Draft.
