8. WR. LSU. Ja'Marr Chase. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. player. 32

Arizona Cardinals’ projected win total: 7.3
Ja’Marr Chase 2019 stats: 84 receptions for 1,780 yards and 20 touchdowns.

Now, this could be the most fun pick of this entire mock draft. Ja’Marr Chase is the best wide receiver in an absolutely loaded 2021 NFL Draft class at the position. Chase is an explosive outside target who shows a wide catch radius and impressive contested-catch ability. He is quick off of the line of scrimmage, shows an incredible release against press coverage, has soft hands and is extremely explosive with the ball in his hands. Basically, this guy can do it all.

As fantastic as Chase is, he could easily end up being a top-three pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. However, this class of wide receivers is incredibly deep. It is extremely similar to the 2020 NFL Draft class and we saw how talented receivers fell a bit down the board this year. With so much impact depth at the position, teams are fine waiting a bit on the position. I could see something similar happening in the 2021 NFL Draft.

That being said, Chase is a special talent who will separate himself as the top receiver in this class. The Arizona Cardinals have done a nice job of collecting impact wide receiver talent the last couple of year, most notably adding DeAndre Hopkins this offseason. Selecting Chase to pair with Hopkins would give the Cardinals one of the best wide receiver duos in the entire NFL.

This mock draft selection by Arizona is simply an investment in the growth of Kyler Murray. With another impact receiver on the outside, his ceiling is truly limitless in the Cardinals’ wide-open offensive attack.
